Kigali, Rwanda – On Friday, July 25, 2025, the campus of the United African Institute of Technology (UAIT) was transformed into a vibrant center of cultural exchange as we proudly hosted the Embassy of the Republic of Korea's flagship cultural event, 'Muraho Korea! in Kigali(UAIT)'.

It was an honor for UAIT to be selected as the venue for this significant occasion, reinforcing our institution's strong ties with the Republic of Korea and our commitment to fostering international friendship through education and culture.

A Stage for Talent and Tradition

The atmosphere in our auditorium was electric as the event showcased the very best of Korea and Rwanda. The program featured finalists who had successfully advanced through the competitive K-Contest preliminaries held in Huye and Kigali.

Highlights of the Stage Performances

  • Martial Arts Mastery: A powerful and disciplined Taekwondo demonstration by the Rwanda National Team
  • Musical Excellence: A celebratory performance by the previous year's K-Contest winner
  • Star Power: A special guest performance by renowned Rwandan singer Social Mula, bringing the crowd to their feet

A Feast for the Senses

The experience extended beyond the stage, offering participants a fully immersive journey into Korean culture.

Taste of Korea: As part of the Embassy's food promotion efforts, attendees were treated to authentic Korean cuisine prepared by a top local Korean restaurant in Kigali.

Visual Arts: Our campus spaces hosted a curated Korean film and photo exhibition, allowing visitors to explore the visual history and beauty of Korea.

Building Bridges

"Hosting 'Muraho Korea!' at UAIT is about more than just a venue; it is about shared values. Seeing our students and the local community engage with Korean culture right here on our grounds was truly inspiring."
